Three Reasons We’re Already in Your Vendor Roster
Corporate filings, banking resolutions, and commercial closings move on tight calendars. Our job is to be the easy line item on your vendor sheet – fast, predictable, billable, and always recordable on the first pass.
Massachusetts Business & Corporate Notary Services
Every Massachusetts business eventually needs a notary – to form a new entity with the Secretary of the Commonwealth, to ratify a board resolution, to satisfy a bank’s signature verification, to close a commercial loan, to file foreign qualification paperwork, or to complete an apostille for a foreign subsidiary. Our job is to make that step the easy part of the transaction.
We are an NNA-certified Massachusetts notary public, continuously commissioned since 2007. We serve LLCs, S-corps, C-corps, partnerships, sole proprietorships, professional corporations (PCs), nonprofits (501(c)(3) and others), Massachusetts business trusts, and out-of-state entities qualifying to do business in the Commonwealth. Whether the signing is at your downtown Boston office, a Cambridge co-working space, your law firm’s conference room, or our Tewksbury location, we coordinate around your schedule and the deadlines on your filing.
Business documents we routinely notarize
The following are the most common Massachusetts business and corporate documents our clients request notarization for. If you have a corporate or commercial document not on this list, call – we almost certainly handle it.
Articles of Organization & Incorporation
LLC formation documents, articles of incorporation for corporations, certificates of formation, and amendments. Filed with the MA Secretary of the Commonwealth.
Operating Agreements & Bylaws
LLC operating agreements, partnership agreements, corporate bylaws, and shareholder agreements. Member or shareholder consent resolutions notarized when required.
Corporate Resolutions
Board resolutions, secretary’s certificates, certificates of vote, action by written consent, and ratifications of officer authority.
Banking Authorizations
Banking resolutions, signature authority cards, deposit authorizations, wire transfer authorizations, and ACH agreements for business accounts.
Commercial Loan Documents
SBA loans, commercial real estate financing, equipment loans, working-capital lines, and security agreements – executed at the borrower’s office or attorney’s conference room.
Vendor & Service Contracts
Master service agreements, statements of work, vendor contracts, NDAs, employment agreements, and consulting agreements with notarized signatures.
Stock & Equity Transfers
Stock transfer documents, capital contribution agreements, membership interest assignments, buy-sell agreements, and equity grant signatures.
Foreign Qualification & Apostille
Foreign corporation registration documents, certificates of good standing, international subsidiary filings, and apostille processing for use abroad.
How a corporate signing works
Whether the signing is at your office, your attorney’s conference room, or our Tewksbury location, the process is consistent and efficient:
- Booking & document brief. Tell us what’s being signed, who needs to sign, the timing, and the destination. We confirm the appointment, fee, and any witness or apostille requirements upfront.
- Identity verification. Each signer presents a current government-issued photo ID. The notary records ID details in our journal as required by Massachusetts law.
- Signature & seal. Signatures are witnessed in the notary’s physical presence. Each notarized page receives an embossed or inked seal and a complete acknowledgment block.
- Delivery. Originals handed off on the spot. PDF scans emailed within an hour to your filing agent, attorney, lender, or in-house counsel – whichever is faster for the next step.
- Apostille pickup (if needed). If the document is destined for foreign use, we coordinate apostille processing through the Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth and ship to the destination country.

Multilingual support for international filings
A growing share of Massachusetts businesses are international or operate cross-border. Hanson Bechat is fully fluent in English, Arabic, and French and routinely supports dual-language contracts, embassy filings, foreign subsidiary registrations, dual-citizenship paperwork for founders, and international partnership agreements. The notarial certificate must be completed in English, but signers do not need a third-party interpreter to understand what they’re executing. This service has been available continuously since 2007 and is rare in the Greater Boston area.
Apostille for foreign business filings
Once a Massachusetts business document is notarized, it often needs a Massachusetts apostille before it will be accepted abroad – by a foreign branch office, an embassy, a foreign court, or an international counterparty. We process apostilles through the Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth and ship the completed apostilled document anywhere in the world. Common use cases include foreign subsidiary registrations, cross-border M&A documents, international employment contracts, and global vendor agreements. Bundling the notarization and apostille into a single workflow saves several days versus processing them separately.

Business & Corporate Notary FAQs
Quick answers to what business owners, attorneys, and corporate clients ask most.
-
What kinds of business documents can a notary witness in Massachusetts?
A Massachusetts notary public can witness signatures and apply an acknowledgment block on virtually any business document that requires verified identity of the signer. Common examples include articles of organization, articles of incorporation, operating agreements, bylaws, corporate resolutions, banking authorizations, secretary’s certificates, commercial loan documents, vendor contracts, employment agreements, stock transfers, and foreign qualification documents. The notary verifies identity and witnesses the signature; the notary does not draft or interpret the document.
-
Do LLC and corporate formation documents need to be notarized in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts does not universally require articles of organization or articles of incorporation to be notarized for filing with the Secretary of the Commonwealth, but many lenders, banks, foreign jurisdictions, and out-of-state filing agents require notarization as additional verification. We recommend confirming with your filing agent or attorney before scheduling. Operating agreements and bylaws are typically signed without notarization, but member or shareholder consent resolutions are commonly notarized for institutional acceptance.
-
Can you handle a commercial loan signing or commercial real estate closing?
Yes. Hanson Webb is an NNA-certified Notary Signing Agent (NSA) and routinely handles commercial loan signings, business equipment financing, working-capital loan closings, SBA loan packets, and commercial real estate transactions on-site at the borrower’s office, the lender’s office, or the closing attorney’s conference room. Massachusetts is an attorney closing state, so we work alongside your transactional attorney rather than presiding over the closing.
-
How much does business notary service cost?
In-office single-document notarization at our Tewksbury location starts at $45, with each additional signature in the same visit at $15. Mobile business notarization follows our zone rates, from $125 (Zone I), $179 (Zone II) or $250 (Zone III), plus surcharges for evenings, weekends and additional documents. Commercial loan signings and full closing packets typically run $175 to $250. Corporate retainer accounts with monthly invoicing and preferred pricing are available for high-volume clients.
-
Do you offer corporate retainer or preferred-vendor accounts?
Yes. Massachusetts law firms, CPA practices, commercial real estate teams, lenders, and corporate HR departments can establish a monthly invoicing account with us for predictable pricing, priority scheduling, and same-day PDF delivery. Call (978) 851-0199 to discuss terms. We typically activate corporate accounts within one business day.
-
Can you provide witnesses for a corporate signing?
Most Massachusetts business documents require only the notary’s acknowledgment, not separate witnesses. Some institutions, foreign jurisdictions, or specific commercial transactions require one or two witnesses. We can typically provide one staff witness on request; the signer is responsible for arranging a second witness if required.
-
Do you handle apostille processing for international business documents?
Yes. We notarize the document, then process the Massachusetts apostille through the Secretary of the Commonwealth and ship the completed apostilled document to your destination – whether a foreign branch office, an international counterparty, or an embassy. Common use cases include foreign subsidiary filings, dual-country contracts, international partnership agreements, and global mergers.
-
Can a corporate document be remote online notarized?
Massachusetts permits remote online notarization (RON) for many documents, and many internal corporate filings will accept RON acknowledgments. However, documents destined for institutional banking acceptance, foreign filings, or recording at any Massachusetts Registry of Deeds typically require wet-ink signatures and physical notary seals. We recommend in-person notarization for any corporate document with a recording, banking, or international destination.
-
Do you notarize business documents in Arabic or French?
Yes. Hanson Webb is fully fluent in English, Arabic, and French and can witness signatures and confirm comprehension in any of the three languages – especially valuable for international partnership agreements, foreign subsidiary filings, embassy documents, and dual-language contracts. The notarial certificate must be completed in English, but signers do not need an interpreter.
-
Can you come to our office or conference room?
Yes. Mobile business notary visits to corporate offices, law firms, accounting firms, conference rooms, board meetings, and remote co-working spaces are routine across Greater Boston, Cambridge, the Merrimack Valley, MetroWest, Worcester County, and beyond – 7 days a week with confirmed booking, including evenings until 9 PM.
